The Basics of Playing 90 Ball Bingo

By Craig Crossland

Bingo is a fun, exciting and a social sport that can keep players not only entertained for hours but bring joy to people when their winning numbers are called. However, just like all gambling you should know your limits and when to stop playing.

Bingo games are categorised into two different games, 90 ball and 75 ball. In this article we will be referring to the game known as 90 ball bingo. In 90 ball bingo you will get a sheet that has 6 cards on it, the sheet has a total of 90 numbers randomly placed amount the 6 cards on the sheet. Each card has 27 squares filled with numbers and spaces and there are 9 columns and 3 rows on each card. When playing bingo you can play with as many cards as you want, most people stick to 1 sheet as it contains all 90 numbers but you could just buy one card and have only a select number of the 90 numbers.

When playing bingo you get a bingo caller that calls numbers out, these numbers are randomly generated by a machine and then you have to mark of the numbers if you have them on your card/sheet. If you are playing online the computer software will do this for you, if you are at a bingo hall you will need a marker to do this.

In 90 balls bingo the game is split into three parts: 1 line, 2 lines and full house. The aim of the game then is simple, you win the first line if you have managed to cross out all the bingo numbers in a horizontal line that have been called out, 2 lines refer to you crossing 2 horizontal lines on a card and full house refers to you crossing all the numbers on a card. You need to make sure the numbers are on one card, not sheet to win. If you managed to do any of the previous 3 before anyone else you shout “BINGO”. Your numbers will be check and if you were legitimate, you win. Online bingo will do this for you.

If you are playing online you can simply just sit back and watch the computer do all the work, all you have to do it click buy tickets then pick how many cards you want. Some people believe this to spoil the fun and other players believe this to be a plus as they can play more cards than they normally would and also get up to other things such as the chat features while they are playing. At a bingo hall it is more interactive, you will need to mark off your own numbers and shout “BINGO” when you win, you have to concentrate so talking with fellow bingo players is out of the question when a game is in session.

Usually, in standard bingo each bingo card costs 20p and a sheet costs £1.20 but as every bingo site and bingo hall is different these can vary, the amount of money you can win will depend on three factors: 1. How many bingo players are playing, 2. How much each bingo card was to buy, and 3, How many bingo cards each player purchased. The higher these three factors the more money that is up for grabs.
